While other states such as Wisconsin are completely invalidating the governor’s authority to call for mask mandates, NC’s House is moving forward with the same plan and has voted to limit the governor’s powers.

The NC House approved a bill that would force the governor to have to seek approval from the state council before unilaterally deciding on policies set in place during emergencies. The bill goes to the Senate next for approval.

Meanwhile, North Carolinians are under Cooper’s Executive Order 204 through April 30th which includes a continued statewide mask mandate.
